SAE establishes affiliate society in Britain

The Society of Automotive Engineers International (SAE-I), based in Pittsburgh PA, has established SAE-UK, an affiliate society in the United Kingdom

The Society of Automotive Engineers International (SAE-I), based in Pittsburgh PA, has established SAE-UK, an affiliate society in the United Kingdom incorporating the Institute of Vehicle Engineers (IVehE). SAE-I has more than 85,000 members from approximately 90 nations. The main objective of the affiliate society is to serve UK-based mobility practitioners by supporting their professional and informational needs. Henceforth, SAE-UK will be able to provide its members with full access to SAE technical publications, programs, professional development seminars, and other services.

SAE-UK members are professional engineers in the automotive, aerospace, and off-highway machinery industries. Currently, the group has more than 1,500 members. SAE-I has 60-plus SAE chapters within and outside North America, in addition to two affiliate societies in Brazil and India.
