Old Dominion Opens Two New Service Centers

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has opened two new service centers – one in Houston, Texas, and one in Kalamazoo, Mich., allowing the company to better serve customers in the two areas

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has opened two new service centers – one in Houston, Texas, and one in Kalamazoo, Mich., allowing the company to better serve customers in the two areas.

In Kalamazoo, the 44-door facility is situated on an eight-acre site at 3600 Alvan Road and will employ 15 employees. The new service center is located southeast of Kalamazoo's city center, near the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport.

"By opening a service center in Kalamazoo, we will expand our reach in Michigan to better serve customers and streamline line-haul operations," said Mike Wood, Old Dominion's vice president of the Midwest region. "The new service center will help us keep our promise to customers by continuing to offer the best on-time rate in the LTL industry."

The service center will operate under the leadership of Service Center Manager Randall Motzell.

In south Houston, the 38-door facility is situated on a 3.7-acre site at 200 Brisbane Road and will employ more than 30 employees. The new service center is located near William P. Hobby Airport, southeast of Houston’s city center.

"The new service center increases our capacity in the Houston area and will help us serve our customers' pick-up and delivery needs in a more timely manner," said Gerry Broadwell, Old Dominion's vice president of the Gulf States region. "Our promise to our customers is that we are always working to find better ways to serve their needs, and the new South Houston Service Center will help us continue to offer the best on-time performance in the LTL industry"

The service center will operate under the leadership of Service Center Manager Ryan Mask.

Old Dominion operates 212 service centers in the lower 48 states.
