NTEA report reveals significant gap between typical and highly profitable distributorships

The typical commercial truck and transportation equipment distributor had sales of $4,786,653 and a pre-tax profit of 2.7% in 2004. In contrast, the high-profit distributor had sales of $4,934,487 and a pre-tax profit of 8.6% during the same period of time. This significant gap is one of many operational issues analyzed in the recently released 2005 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Distributor Profit Survey Report.
