The National Trailers Dealers Association (NTDA) Board of Directors has voted to hire a full-time executive director for the first time—Gwendolyn Brown, who served as the association’s communications director from 2001–2008 while employed by the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA).

NTDA president Holly Hale said the move will “positively impact” all NTDA members.

“As our industry’s only voice and organization for independent trailer dealers … we believe our organization has grown to a level that makes this move possible,” she said. “Most importantly, we are confident having our own executive director will further enhance (the) NTDA membership experience.

“The NTEA served the NTDA well over the past several years, and we appreciate the excellent services and support they have provided. With the NTDA’s long history and excellent reputation in mind, the NTDA and the NTEA are coordinating their effort to ensure the transition goes smoothly.

“As a first step, over the next month Gwen will personally contact (members) to introduce herself and to seek input. (Member) ideas will determine the association’s direction and delivery of future products, programs and services.”
