Paul Yancey has been named regional sales manager for Tremcar USA Inc and is based at Eustis FL. He was most recently a sales representative with Semo Tank and Baker Equipment.

Component Manufacturers

Stellar Industries Inc has hired Gerard “Gerry” Carpentier as Canadian sales representative for the Stellarc Power System. Carpentier has served most of his life in equipment sales and marketing while working within distributor networks.

Buyers Products Co has added Keith Skinner as regional sales manager responsible for Pennsylvania and central/western New York. He brings more than 23 years' experience in the truck and trailer industry, from installation to parts sales and service. Buyers Products Co also has added John Harris as regional sales manager responsible for customer support and market development for Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Harris brings more than 15 years' experience in the truck and trailer industry.

Sika Corp has appointed William E Loven senior vice-president of Industry Division. Before joining Sika, he spent five years as general manager at ITW Plexus.

Frank T Willis has joined Ancra International LLC's Material Handling Systems Division as executive account manager responsible for all sales activities in the eastern United States. Willis previously was national sales manager for Advanced Handling Systems, a division of Morgan Corp.

Dick Sullivan has joined Waltco Truck Equipment Co as Midwest regional sales manager. From 1996 to 2000, Sullivan was manager of Midwest regional parts and service for Morgan Truck Bodies Inc. Waltco has hired Doug Card as New England district sales representative. He previously was general sales manager for the Nextran Corp.

Arnold “Arnie” Dunai has joined Sloan Transportation Products as director of sales — OE truck. Before joining Sloan, Dunai held various sales and product management positions at Mack Trucks Inc and Volvo Trucks North America Inc.

Don Gilmore has been named to the newly created position of division vice-president of administration for Haldex Brake Systems. Gilmore previously was vice-president and general manager of the Kansas City Product Center for Haldex.

Robert J Meyer has been appointed product engineering manager by Leyman Lift Gates. Meyer joins the company after engineering assignments with ITT Goulds Pumps of Seneca Falls NY and ITT A-C Pump of Cincinnati OH.

Pacific Utility Equipment Co has named Lee Jacobson executive vice-president. He previously served as chief financial officer of a $260-million company.

Fabricators

Strippit Inc has named Larry Homb sales engineer — machinery based in the Houston TX area. Most recently, he was an international sales manager. Steve Hardie has been appointed tooling sales engineer based in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada. Hardie has previous sales experience and has worked as a CNC turret press programmer. Karen Perkins has been named applications specialist and will be based at the Strippit/LVD technical center in Belmont NC. Perkins has experience in management, software support, and as a computer technician.

Hypertherm Inc has promoted Zhipeng Lu to vice-president of plasma technology. Lu has been a team leader for the mechanized systems team for four years. Evan Smith was promoted to vice-president and general manager of the manual, mechanized, and torch and consumables teams. Smith was team leader for the manual systems team for four years. David LaPrade was appointed mechanized systems team leader, Bruce Altobelli manual systems team leader, and Brenda Blair torch and consumables team leader. LaPrade has been manager of continuous improvement for the past two years. Altobelli has been with Hypertherm five years as leader of the manufacturing process engineering team. Blair has been operations manager for the torch and consumables team. Michael Shipulski has been named engineering manager for the mechanized systems team. He previously worked on Hypertherm's ISO quality compliance program.

Industry Association Profiles

The Roadway Safety Foundation has named Bill Buff interim executive director. He succeeds Kathy Hoffman, who began the group and headed it for more than five years before moving to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Safety. Buff will serve concurrently as director of communications and government affairs for the American Highway Users Alliance.
