Mexican truck and bus exports up sharply

Exports of trucks and buses rose almost 50% in March, according to the Asociación Nacional de Productores de Autobuses, Camiones y Tratocamiones (ANPACT).

Exports of trucks and buses rose almost 50% in March, according to the Asociación Nacional de Productores de Autobuses, Camiones y Tratocamiones (ANPACT).

Mexico exported 4,188 units during March, 49% more than the 2,808 exported in March 2005. Through the first three months of 2006, Mexican manufacturers exported 11,011 vehicles, up 18% from the corresponding period of 2005.

The United States continued to be the Mexico's best customer. Of the 4,188 vehicles exported in March, 3,619 were shipped to the U.S. -- 86% of the total.
