A new council for human resources executives of automotive suppliers is being formed by the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) and the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA). The Human Resources Council will give human resources executives a forum to identify and address industry issues, recommend solutions, and promote implementation of improved human resources practices.

This council, which will meet quarterly, held its inaugural meeting April 22, 2002, in Detroit MI. Council members will have access to MEMA and OESA publications and two annual compensation studies: Executive Compensation and Benefits Practices of Automotive and Heavy Duty Products Manufacturers and Sales Force Compensation and Benefits Practices of Automotive and Heavy-Duty Products Manufacturers.
