Manac gets $12.5-million trailer order

Manac, a division of The Canam Manac Group, has secured an order from Trailcon Leasing of Mississauga, Ontario, to manufacture 141 waste disposal trailers and two dump trailers.

The order, valued at $12.5 million, consists of 130 five-axle aluminum transfer trailers 48 feet long, 11 three-axle steel tipper transfer trailers 53 feet long, and two five-axle 45-ft aluminum dump trailers.

Production is scheduled to be completed by December. It will create 35 new jobs and secure 100 more, according to Manac.

In addition, Manac also obtained from Trailcon a contract to produce a total of 40 dry-freight vans. The order includes 10 tandem-axle 53-ft aluminum vans that Manac will build in its Orangeville, Ontario, plant and 30 FRP vans that will be produce at the Saint-Georges plant in Quebec. Of the 48-ft FRP vans that Trailcon ordered, 20 will be three-axle models and 10 will be tandems.
