Manac Inc, a subsidiary of The Canam Manac Group, has signed a contract with SLH Transport Inc of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, to manufacture 600 pre-painted 53-foot aluminum vans. Valued at about $15 million, this is one of the largest semitrailer contracts received by Manac since its founding in 1966.

The 600 vans are to be equipped with tandem air-ride axles. Van deliveries are scheduled for between May and August 2004. SLH is a Canadian for-hire trucking company that supplies air-ride service to shippers in Canada and United States.

Manac's plant in Saint-Georges-de-Beauce will fulfill the contract. This order will allow Manac to increase the production level of vans at the Saint-Georges plant to full capacity in the next few weeks and will result in rehiring 55 employees.
