With the recent opening of two new dealerships, Mack Trucks, Inc. continues to expand its operations in Mexico. Camiones Pesados de Mexico S.A. de C.V. in Mexico City was the first to open for business, followed by Camionera La Silla S.A. de C.V. in Monterrey. Both facilities opened in August.

The new 72,600-square-foot Mexico City dealership, which is located in Tlalnepantla, just north of the Mexican capital, features a showroom, a service and parts area, and a driver amenities room and service waiting area.

“The Mexico City area accounts for more than 32 percent of all Class 8 sales in Mexico,” said Eduardo Basáñez, managing director of Mack Vehículos Industriales de México S.A. de C.V.

The Monterrey dealership has two locations – the main facility, at 17,500 square feet, includes a showroom, service area and parts center, while a separate 10,800-square-foot location comprises its main service area and a second showroom.

“Monterrey is the second-largest Class 8 truck market with more than 15 percent of total Mexican sales,” added Basáñez. “We are now well positioned to take advantage of the two largest markets.” The complete line of Class 8 Mack trucks will be available from both dealerships.

Basáñez added that four additional Mack dealerships are expected to be open by the end of the year. These include Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest city and third-largest truck market; Queretaro, a growing industrial center located 150 miles north of Mexico City; Bajío, located in central Mexico and the fourth-largest truck market; and Torreón, another growing industrial center in northern Mexico.
