The second decking system for the new Krone Profi Liner Double Deck consists of longitudinal loading bars at the sidewall that are punched with locating holes for a total of 33 cross supports. These cross bars can be loaded with 33 euro pallets, each of which can carry a maximum weight of 320 kg (700 lb). If uniformly loaded, the second level can carry a maximum load of 10,560 kg (23,000 lb).

The loading bars are adjustable in height from 350 mm to 1850 mm (14" to 73") above the floor in steps of 100 mm (4"). What's more, the load bars have telescoping ends so that spare bars removed as unloading proceeds can be “stored” as side supports. That is, the extra load bars don't need to be stored in a separate compartment. The ends can be inserted into the slots in the vertical posts and serve as additional side protection.

Certification tests at TÜV North were conducted with a 28% higher load — 410 kg (900 lb) per pallet. Each load bar can be safely loaded with 480 kg (1,050 lb). The permissible loading is less when the load bar is used as protection against load shifting. The load bars are more slender than the usual square tube bars that provide equal support for either vertical or horizontal loads.
