In celebrations that will include customers, suppliers, show trucks, and prize giveaways, Kenworth Sales Co will mark its 60th year of business as a Kenworth truck dealership during 2005. It is the second-oldest such dealership in the United States and Canada.

Founded April 1, 1945, by W Jay Treadway, his wife Veda and son J E “Gene” Treadway, the dealership began as a “Mom and Pop” business in Salt Lake City UT, with W. Jay calling on customers, Veda handling the books, and 18-year-old Gene selling parts. Kenworth Sales Co has since grown to more than 350 employees at 10 branch locations in five western states (Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Montana, and Utah).

Corporate headquarters remain in Salt Lake City, near the intersection of Interstates 80 and 15. The company holds an 18.2% market share on annual gross revenue of nearly $129 million.

As a full line dealer, Kenworth Sales Co offers customers new and used trucks sales, full body, paint and se rvice shops, contract maintenance, remote inventory management, leasing, financing, and insurance services.

Customer appreciation celebrations are scheduled throughout 2005 at each branch location: Idaho Falls, ID (March 10); Salt Lake City (April 1); Las Vegas NV. (April 22) ; St George UT (April 28); Price UT (May 4); Pocatello ID (May 6); Pasco WA (May 12); Lewiston ID (May 13); Missoula MT (September 20); and Spokane WA (September 22).
