ISO Standards Help Users Deal with Pressure

Oct. 1, 2001
Four new international standards have been issued and are available from the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA): ISO 5781:2000 Hydraulic fluid power

Four new international standards have been issued and are available from the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA):

  • ISO 5781:2000 — Hydraulic fluid power — Pressure-reducing valves, sequence valves, unloading valves, throttle valves, and check valves — Mounting surfaces specifies dimensions and other characteristics of surfaces on which these types of valves are mounted. Price per copy: $54 (list); $43 for NFPA members.

  • ISO 6953-1:2000 — Pneumatic fluid power — Compressed air pressure regulators and filter-regulators — Part 1: Main characteristics to be included in literature from suppliers and product-marking requirements specifies characteristics of compressed-air pressure regulators to be included in literature from companies that supply these components. In addition, it specifies the product marking requirements for pressure regulators and filter-regulators. Price per copy: $32 (list); $25 for NFPA members.

  • ISO 6953-2:2000 — Pneumatic fluid power — Compressed air pressure regulators and filter-regulators — Part 2: Test methods to determine the main characteristics to be included in literature from suppliers specifies tests, test procedures and a method of presenting the results related to the main characteristics specified in ISO 6953-1 to be included in literature from suppliers of regulators and filter-regulators. Price per copy: $32 (list); $25 for NFPA members.

  • ISO 15171-2:2000 — Connections for fluid power and general use — Hydraulic couplings for diagnostic purposes — Part 2: Coupling with M16 × 2 end for connection under pressure specifies dimensions, performance requirements, and test procedures for a diagnostic coupling with an M14 × 1.5 straight stud end to mate with an ISO 6149-1 port and an M16 × 2 connection end that can be connected under pressure without tools to a maximum pressure of 40 Mpa (400 bar). Coupling counterpart dimensions are specified. Price per copy: $28 (list); $22 for NFPA members.
