ArvinMeritor Inc has announced that the International Truck and Engine Corp selected the company's Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group to continue to supply front axles, rear axles, air brakes, and automatic slack adjusters as standard for International 5000i- (vocational) and 9000i-series (linehaul) tractors, until 2010.

According to ArvinMeritor, the arrangement is designed to provide International's facility in Escobedo, Mexico, with modular assemblies of front and rear axles, brakes, hubs and drums, suspensions, wheel-speed sensors, and shock absorbers. These modules will be assembled and delivered from Arvin Meritor's joint venture, Sistemas Automotrices de Mexico SA, formed in November 2002.

Individual axles and brakes will be produced at ArvinMeritor plants in Asheville NC and Tilbury, Ontario, Canada, and delivered to International's Garland TX and Chatham, Ontario, facilities.
