Heil issues 2005 technical training schedule

The Heil Institute of Technology announces its 2005 schedule of factory training courses. Most of the classes will be held at the Joseph F Heil Jr Education Center, a dedicated training facility adjacent to the Heil Environmental manufacturing plant in Fort Payne AL. Due to growing demand from customers in the West, six classes also are planned for Phoenix AZ.

Dates and topics of the training schedule are:

  • February 8-11*, Rapid Rail automated side loader/STARR system

  • February 22-25, Formula 7000 automated side loader

  • March 8-11*, Python automated arm

  • March 22-25, Python automated arm

  • April 5-8, front loaders

  • April 19-22*, Rapid Rail automated side loader/STARR system

  • May 10-11, PLC — electronic controls

  • June 7-9, DuraPack 5000/PowerTrak commercial rear loaders

  • June 21-23, Formula 4000/PT 1000 rear loaders

  • July 12-14, distributor parts training

  • August 23-26, Rapid Rail automated side loader/STARR system

  • September 20-23*, Rapid Rail automated side loader/STARR system

  • October 4-7, Python automated arm

  • October 18-21*, Python automated arm

  • November 1-4*, Rapid Rail automated side loader/STARR system

* Class will be held in Phoenix.

All of these hands-on classes are designed to provide the technicians who maintain Heil refuse collection vehicles with a thorough understanding of the products, so they can work more efficiently and effectively. Each class covers basic hydraulics and DC electronics, cycle times and unit operation, in-depth hydraulic system operation, preventative maintenance procedures, adjustments and pressure settings, and other technical aspects of specific Heil bodies.

The full fee for any of the courses is $250, including training aids, lunch each day, and a certificate of course completion. Students are responsible for travel, lodging, and other meals. Technicians who complete a course earn continuing education units (CEUs).
