Bodyworks Equipment Inc. of Monrovia, Calif., was named an authorized full-line distributor for Heil Environmental effective Oct. 1. For more than 10 years, Bodyworks has served Southern California as a Heil Parts and Service Center, providing replacement parts and service for refuse collection vehicles throughout the region. As an authorized distributor, Bodyworks will now sell Heil refuse collection vehicles, as well.

The company is also a distributor of refuse collection vehicle replacement parts for Parts Central, dump bodies and truck equipment for the Heil Truck Equipment Group, and hydraulic lifters for Bayne Premium Lift Systems.

Bodyworks has been family owned and operated since its founding in May 1995. Jim Anderson serves as president. His son T.J. Anderson is vice president and the distributorship’s technical expert. Pio Rodriguez is parts manager. Jim’s other son, Nathan, just joined the company as sales manager. Nathan previously served for several years as a direct sales representative in the territory for Heil. After he returned from a two-year tour with the U.S. Army last year, Bodyworks began discussing with Heil the possibility of becoming a full-line distributor.

Officials at both companies agree that the change should be seamless for customers in Southern California.

“Our customers will get more full-service care from a single source,” explains Jim Anderson. “They don’t have a different salesperson — it’s still Nathan — he just has Bodyworks on his business card instead of Heil. When they have a problem with a truck, they call Bodyworks. When they need a part, they call Bodyworks. When they need a truck, they call Bodyworks. We’re now a one-stop shopping center.”

The team’s experience as a parts and service center has prepared it for serving customers as a full-line distributor, says David Baratti, Heil vice president of North American sales.

“Over the past 10 years, Bodyworks has proven to be a true asset to customers throughout Southern California,” he says. “The Bodyworks team is focused on helping customers maintain maximum productivity from all of their equipment. Because of the company’s experience and Nathan Anderson’s desire to join the family business, it was only natural to add new equipment sales to Bodyworks’ line of services and make this exemplary organization the latest authorized full-line distributor in Heil’s unsurpassed global distribution network.”

The Heil refuse collection vehicle product line includes a broad range of front loaders, rear loaders, side loaders and recyclers. Parts Central provides Bodyworks and its customers with access to the industry’s largest inventory of replacement parts for refuse collection vehicles from any of the major manufacturers, as well as Heil Certified OEM Parts. Bayne offers a complete line of the most-requested hydraulic cart lifters for refuse collection vehicles and commercial/industrial applications. The Heil Truck Equipment Group manufactures a complete line of dump bodies, hoists and additional truck equipment.
