Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems has announced plans to further expand the Monterrey, Mexico facility by moving all production activities from the Iola KS manufacturing facility. Monterrey is suited for this expansion since it has been the primary brake actuator production facility since 2002 and recently expanded production by moving into a new 200,000-square-foot facility.

The Monterrey plant is in a region of increasing significance for the North American automotive industry and has recently undergone an investment program. Jay Longbottom, executive vice-president and head of commercial vehicle systems, said, “The investment in the Monterrey facility will significantly increase operational efficiencies and enable Haldex to better meet our North American commercial vehicle customer requirements.”

Relocation of production will occur during the third and fourth quarters of 2010 without service interruption. This action results from the need to consolidate and improve activities that have been brought into Haldex through past acquisitions.
