LOUISVILLE, KY – Great Dane is exhibiting three new products at the Mid-America Trucking Show: the Super LT refrigerated trailer that will serve the truckload market in the Eastern U.S. and Canada; the FREEDOM line of flatbeds; and PunctureGuard Plus, a new trailer liner.

Manufactured in Great Dane’s Brazil, Ind., and Savannah, Ga., plants, the Super LT offers a geographic advantage for distribution to these areas by lowering freight costs.

While available with options, the Super LT comes with popular specifications for customers needing readily available solutions. The Super LT will be available at all branch and dealer locations and more than 1,000 have already been ordered.

The Super LT is available in 48 and 53 feet lengths with a 102-inch width and features an extruded aluminum scuffband as standard in 10 inches, with 16 and 22 inches available as an option. The Super LT show trailer is constructed with PunctureGuard Plus, an interior lining that is incredibly resilient and, according to Great Dane, is the only material of its kind designed from conception specifically for the trailer industry by the trailer industry.

“The demand for lighter weight, longer life trailers was the driving force in the development of the Super LT,” said Chris Adkins, senior vice president of sales & marketing.

“This new trailer meets those demands without sacrificing the traditional strength and durability of a Great Dane. We combined our most popular specs with a select number of options at a competitive price, which makes the Super LT the product of choice for the long-haul truckload carrier.”

The FREEDOM line of flatbeds, specifically designed for an “in stock” program, have straight frame and drop deck platforms.

The combination steel/aluminum platform trailers offer competitive weight and price without sacrificing strength and durability. FREEDOM flatbeds are designed to be easily modified at the branch or dealer with add-ons such as tool boxes, tire carriers, bulk heads, winches and straps. They feature an integral winch track, and modular construction makes them easy to repair.

At 102 inches wide, FREEDOM flatbeds are available in two popular specs: 12-inch crossmember spacing for extra strength in forklift operations and 16-inch crossmember spacing for heavy-load hauling where trailer weight must be kept at a minimum. The FREEDOM drop deck is standard with a deck height of 40 inches.

PunctureGuard’s newest application is available as a van liner in a 0.100-inch thick panel and as a reefer liner in 0.050 inch, 0.070 inch, and 0.100 inch thick panels. As a scuffband, PunctureGuard is available in 0.200 and 0.120 bondable scuff thicknesses for reefers and in 0.160 and 0.200 inch thicknesses as non-bondable scuff for dry freight vans.
