Great Dane Trailers announced today that it has broken ground on a new branch facility in Dallas, Texas, that will offer area customers state-of-the art service and double the capacity of the old branch location.

The new Dallas branch, expected to open for business in early 2005, is situated on 18 acres of the Southport Industrial Park.

The new 40,000-square-foot facility will be modeled after Great Dane's Charlotte, N.C., branch, which opened in July 2003. Like that location, a high-tech paint booth will be installed, and an expanded parts warehouse will be integrated into the structure.

Additionally, Dallas is poised to become the newest Great Dane used trailer regional center, accepting a high volume of trades and becoming a distribution hub for previously owned trailers. These features will enable the new Dallas branch to become a one-stop-shop for trailer sales, parts, and service.

"The new setting will allow us to meet increased demand by offering a wider variety of Great Dane products and services to our customers," said Glen Williams, Dallas branch manager. "Our new facility will better accommodate the continuing growth of the Dallas market and the pace of our evolving industry."

With twice the yard space and shop capacity of the old locale, operating at 4415 Irving Blvd., the new parcel was strategically selected for its highly desirable location in a rapidly expanding section of southern Dallas. This site can be found on Port Blvd. just off I-20 at the Bonnieview exit. Great Dane will maintain the Irving Blvd. location as a parts and service facility to serve existing customers.
