Fontaine Trailer Co has released the newest design for its Ultra lightweight dropdeck sliding-suspension trailer. This dropdeck has fabricated I-beams with continuous welds on both sides. It has a minimum of 130 steel flanges and lightening holes. The Ultra dropdeck is equipped with an upper coupler area reinforced for a safe and secure connection with a tractor fifthwheel.

The Ultra has lightweight extruded aluminum side rails with aluminum stake pockets, pipe spools, and rub rails. It is also equipped with Fontaine's aluminum winch track. The suspension is a Hendrickson Intraax air-ride with the front axle fixed. The rear axle is designed to slide from 50" closed tandem position to a 10'-2" spread position.

This trailer comes with a sealed electrical system to help eliminate corrosion problems. Other features include:

  • One pair of rubber dock bumpers on the rear. The bumper is designed to meet rear underride requirements.

  • Rubber grommet-mounted air lines and an electrical harness run down the center of the trailer beneath crossmembers.

The company backs its products with a five-year warranty. For full details, contact Fontaine at www.fontainetrailer.com.
