Fontaine Trailer Company has purchased the assets of Ravens, Inc, manufacturers of aluminum platforms, aluminum dump trailers, and steel dump trailers.
Fontaine Trailer Company has purchased the assets of Ravens, Inc, manufacturers of aluminum platforms, aluminum dump trailers, and steel dump trailers. Ravens will retain its name, and operate as a division of Fontaine Trailer Company.

Ravens has manufacturing plants in Kent, Ohio; Jacksonville, North Carolina; and Knox, Indiana. Ravens also has a factory branch in Dover, Ohio.

Ravens, Inc. has been manufacturing all-aluminum trailers since 1956. Since the mid 1990’s, Ravens has been in the top 25 of the largest trailer manufacturers in the country. The company strengthened its position on that list in 1999 by acquiring the Galbreath line of steel dump trailers.

Ravens Eclipse II Classic, Fleethawk and Magnum flatbed and drop deck trailers are manufactured in Kent, Ohio. CNC fabricating equipment allows Ravens to produce standard as well as custom products. A cut-to-length line enables Ravens to decoil, cut, level and straighten plates up to 53 ft. in length.

The plant in Jacksonville NC, concentrates on manufacturing frame-type and frameless dump trailers, dump bodies and live-floor, or transfer trailers. In Knox, Indiana, Ravens manufactures a full line of full-frame, quarter-frame, frameless, and aluminum frame steel dump trailers for the tough user that needs durability and lightweight. Ravens can roll one-piece side structures for units up to 40 ft.

Fontaine Trailer Company’s corporate offices are located in Haleyville, Alabama. Plants are located in Haleyville AL, Princeton KY, Springville AL and Russellville AL. Fontaine Trailer Company is a member of The Marmon Group of companies, an international association of autonomous manufacturing and service companies. In 2000, member companies had collective sales of $6.8 billion. The Marmon Group is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
