Fontaine Trailer Co has purchased the assets of Ravens Inc, extending Fontaine's product line to include aluminum platforms, aluminum dump trailers, and steel dump trailers. Ravens will keep its name and operate as a division of Fontaine.
Ravens has been manufacturing aluminum trailers since 1956 and produced its first flatbed trailer in Ravenswood WV. Since the mid-1990s, it has been in the top 25 of United States trailer manufacturers. In 1999, Ravens acquired Galbreath's steel dump line. Ravens has manufacturing plants in Kent OH, Jacksonville NC, and Knox IN, as well as a factory branch in Dover OH. Eclipse II Classic, Fleethawk, and Magnum flatbed and dropdeck trailers are manufactured in Kent. The plant in Jacksonville produces frame-type and frameless dump trailers, dump bodies, and live-floor or transfer trailers. The Knox plant manufactures full-frame, quarter-frame, frameless, and aluminum frame steel dump trailers.
