In an effort to strengthen market position in the aluminum flatbed and dump trailer industry Ravens, a division of Fontaine Trailer Co, has closed its steel dump trailer plant in Knox IN effective Dec 20, 2002. The three models of trailers affected by this are the Materializer, Eliminator, and Terminator.
Ravens will continue building its aluminum flatbed product line, which includes the Eclipse and the heavy-duty Magnum flatbed trailer models in Kent OH. The company will also continue to manufacture its frame-type and frameless aluminum dump trailer product lines in Jacksonville NC.
Fontaine is based in Haleyville AL with plants in Jacksonville, Kent, and Springville AL.
