On Monday, national diesel prices rose in all regions across the country, upping the average by 4.5 cents over the week earlier to $1.72 per gallon.

This figure is only 5 cents shy of setting a new record high since the Energy Information Administration began its survey in ’94.

The cheapest diesel can be found in the Lower Atlantic region at $1.62 per gallon. The most stable prices this week were in the New England region, posting less than a tenth of a cent increase.

This marks the sixth straight week of increases, with the national average price rising 10.7 cents since March 15.
