Diesel price up two cents

With the price of crude continuing its volatility, the average price for a gallon of diesel nationally jumped two cents to $2.946 for the week ending July 23, according to the Energy Information Administration.

The Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions had the largest price increase -- 2.7 cents, to $2.895 and $2.987, respectively. The only region to post a decline was the West Coast (down 0.4 cents to $3.047). The cheapest region was the Lower Atlantic, despite a 2.4-cent jump to $2.888.
