The average national price for a gallon of diesel rebounded last week after a 1.8-cent hike to $1.952, according to the Energy Information Administration.

The only region that posted a decline was the Central Atlantic region, where prices fell a modest 0.6 cents to $2.127. The Gulf Coast posted the largest spike at 3.2 cents to $1.908. Bargain hunters may want to fill up in the Rocky Mountain region if possible, with prices averaging $1.877. New England posted the steepest prices at $2.168.
