Diesel climbs 0.3 cents to $1.987

The national average price for a gallon of diesel rose 0.3 cents last week to $1.987. This marks the first time in nine weeks the Energy Information Administration reported an increase.

The national average price for a gallon of diesel rose 0.3 cents last week to $1.987. This marks the first time in nine weeks the Energy Information Administration reported an increase.

Most regions posted a decline in diesel prices, however. The Rocky Mountain region posted the largest decrease, down 2.7 cents to $1.961. The Midwest saw the biggest hike at the pumps, up 1.5 cents to $1.959. The Gulf Coast averaged the cheapest diesel, at $1.928, and California once again has the most costly, after a one-cent hike to $2.097.
