Dirt is moving in Cadiz KY as construction begins on Benson International Inc's fourth manufacturing facility. Gray Construction was awarded the bid for the project and has begun construction.

A crowd of nearly 300 attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including Kentucky Gov Ernie Fletcher, and James “Buck” Harless, founder of International Industries Inc, parent company of Benson International.

This 180,000-square-foot facility, covering 21 acres of land, will house multiple production lines and will be in Industrial Park Number 3.

The new facility is scheduled to be completed in late December. In January, limited operations will begin with full production starting in March 2006.

The new facility will let Benson meet present and future market needs, while allowing production at its current facilities to concentrate more on product demand of local markets.

Benson is looking to expand its workforce, not only in Cadiz, but also its sales force on a national basis, as well as its dealer and distribution network.
