Joseph J McAleese has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC. McAleese, who was promoted to president in March 2002, assumes the CEO position previously held by Robert S Oswald, who will continue to serve as Bendix chairman.
Steve Andrews has moved from being managing director with Hendrickson Europe to serve as general manager of Hendrickson International truck suspension systems division in Woodridge IL. Mike Keeler, general manager of auxiliary axle systems in Hebron OH, assumes the added responsibilities of managing Hendrickson Europe. Hendrickson International has promoted Doug Sanford from director of marketing and program management with the truck suspension system division to general manager of Hendrickson's stamping division. Sanford tapped Jeff Zawacki to rejoin the stamping division as director of marketing and engineering. Zawacki was promoted from manager — program management and business development for the truck division.
Buyers Products Co has added Craig Sandmann as regional sales manager responsible for customer support and market development in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. With extensive experience in the truck and trailer industry, he replaces Bob Patno, who now is responsible for the Michigan and Ontario region.
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co has named Rick Navarro vice-president — business development. He joins Goodyear from Solectron Corp, where he was senior vice-president of corporate development. Brent Copeland has been named as president and chief operating officer of Wingfoot Commercial Systems, the Fort Smith AR-based operation of Goodyear. He replaces Stephen McClellan, who recently was named vice-president of Goodyear North American Tire's commercial tire systems. Most recently, Copeland had served Wingfoot as vice-president — sales and marketing.
Kent D Jones has been appointed vice-president of heavy-duty sales and marketing for Delco Remy. He most recently was the firm's vice-president of aftermarket sales and marketing.
Ed Wentz has joined Webb Wheel Products Inc as vice-president of business development, and Michael Krassick has been named director of materials. Krassick replaces Jim Barmettler, who retired in September after more than 24 years with the company. Wentz comes from Fontaine International, where he held several executive sales and marketing positions. Krassick most recently was materials manager at Webb.
