The new Road to Master Technician technical service training program has been paved by Carrier Transicold, a business unit of United Technologies Corp.

This program consists of five weeks of training in four separate modules. Successful completion of all four modules earns dealer technicians the opportunity to take Carrier Transicold's Master Technician exam.

Module 1 is the two-week Truck/Trailer Basics, a prerequisite for the three other one-week modules: Multi-temp Systems, Control Systems, and Truck Systems. Modules 2 through 4, which may be taken in any order, are available exclusively to Carrier Transicold dealer employees, and successful completion of each earns technicians a specialist's certificate in that subject.

In 2006, 22 weeks of training are scheduled. Module 1 is taught at several locations including Los Angeles CA, Denver CO, Chicago IL, and Syracuse NY; Modules 2-4 are taught at the Athens Technical College in Athens GA.
