Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, the North American leader in commercial vehicle safety and braking system technologies, opened a 51,000-square-foot addition to its Huntington Distribution Center. The new building provides 20% additional floor space to accommodate continued business growth.

Company executives from both the corporate office in Ohio and global headquarters in Germany participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local plant employees to officially open the facility.

“It’s exciting to be part of a growing, global company here in Huntington, and our people have played a very vital role in the success of our local operations,” said Michael Pogorelc, plant manager, Bendix Huntington. “Expanding our distribution facility, combined with existing programs aimed at maximizing our production capability and capacity, will continue to position us well for the future.”

The integration of aftermarket brake components for Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake LLC, the Bendix joint venture with Dana Corporation, was the catalyst that drove an accelerated need for the facility’s expansion. In addition, the facility is expanding its employee cafeteria, building an employee fitness center, and adding an internal office complex to house a new training center as further evidence of its commitment to programs to foster career development alongside employee health and wellness.

Bendix employs more than 400 people at its Huntington operations.
