Bay Area Kenworth in Oakland and Sacramento, Calif., was named 2004 Kenworth Dealer of the Year for the United States and Canada at the annual Kenworth Dealer Meeting held last week in the Seattle area.

"The Kenworth Dealer of the Year award is a significant achievement for Bay Area Kenworth, especially considering the number of outstanding dealerships in the Kenworth dealer network," said Tom Bertolino, dealer principal of Sacramento Kenworth, Bay Area Kenworth's sister location. "The biggest asset we have is our people and we thank them for their efforts.”

Bay Area Kenworth was chosen for the honor from among Kenworth's five Gold Award winners for 2004. Other Gold Award winners are Edmonton Kenworth (Edmonton, Alb.); MHC Kenworth (Springfield, Mo.); Tri-State Kenworth (Enfield, Conn.); and Truck Enterprises (Harrisonburg, Va.).

"Bay Area Kenworth had an outstanding 2004. They sold the most vocational trucks, the second highest number of T300 medium duty trucks, and ranked near the top among all Kenworth dealers in the always important Kenworth Customer Satisfaction Survey," said Bob Christensen, Kenworth general manager and PACCAR vice president.

The Kenworth Dealer of the Year award recognizes the top-performing Kenworth dealership that has excelled in many areas, including customer service and support after-the-sale. The award is based on Kenworth's Dealer Excellence Standards and Kenworth's Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Kenworth's Silver Award winners for 2004 are: Greatwest Kenworth (Calgary, Alb.); Inland Kenworth (Fontana, Calif./Phoenix, Ariz.); Inland Kenworth (Albuquerque, N.M.); Kenworth Montreal (St. Laurent, Que.); Kenworth of Birmingham (Birmingham, Ala.); Kenworth of Jacksonville (Jacksonville, Fla.); MHC Kenworth (Denver, Colo.); MHC Kenworth (Oklahoma City, Okla.); Motor Power Equipment (Great Falls, Mont.); Truck Enterprises (Chesapeake, Va.); and Wallwork Kenworth (Fargo, N.D.).
