Autocar is delivering 33 Xpeditor refuse trucks equipped with the C Gas Plus, a low-emissions, natural gas 8.3-liter engine from Cummins Westport. These Class 8 low-cab-over-engine Xpeditors will replace 33 diesel trucks for Fairfield CA-based Solano Garbage Co, a unit of Republic Services.

Powered by liquefied natural gas, the 27-cubic-yard WX Xpeditors will handle up to 90% of the fleet's entire workload for purchaser Solano, which hauls and recycles residential, commercial, and industrial refuse. Delivery of the trucks is expected before February 2002.

Located between San Francisco and Sacramento CA, Solano serves the cities of Fairfield, Suisun, and Cordelia as well as parts of Solano County. Republic provides non-hazardous solid-waste collection services for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential customers through 139 collection companies in 22 states. Republic also owns or operates 79 transfer stations, 53 solid-waste landfills, and 21 recycling facilities.
