ArvinMeritor Inc has opened a new warehouse and distribution center in Monterrey, Mexico, to serve customers of its Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket (CVA) business. The warehouse has doubled the capacity of the company's previous storage and distribution site in Escobedo, Mexico, which it replaces.

The 2,835-square-meter (30,515-sq-ft) facility will include a 250-square-meter (2,690-sq-ft.) office area and will be outfitted with the latest inventory and material-handling equipment in both its shipping and receiving areas. The new Monterrey facility employs 28 people, including much of the previous workforce from the company's nearby Escobedo distribution site. When fully operational, the Monterrey location will handle a portfolio of 4,800 items distributed under the brands Meritor, Dirona, and Sudisa.
