Sep 15, 2011 11:01 AM

Worldwide Equipment has relocated and expanded its parts facility in the Charleston, W.Va., area to a new location that includes 12 service bays and room for additional parts inventory.

A member of the Kenworth dealer network of more than 305 locations in the United States and Canada, the Worldwide Equipment-Charleston parts and service facility sits on just over 4˝ acres at 3100 MacCorkle Ave. S.W. in South Charleston, W.Va. The 39,000-square-foot building features 12 service bays, with one bay dedicated to providing Kenworth PremierCare ExpressLube services. The 1,000-square-foot parts department and a large parts warehouse enable the dealership to stock three times the inventory of its previous parts location.  A driver lounge allows customers to relax while waiting for their trucks to be serviced. The new location will provide parts delivery service to help keep local truck fleets well-stocked with parts.

"This new location is in the middle of the Kanawha Valley, a metropolitan area of 250,000 people that's the hub and state capitol of West Virginia," said Chuck Haden, division manager for Worldwide Equipment Inc. "Our new location is close to three major highways  (Interstates 64, 77, and 79). It offers truck operators easy access to Interstate 64, a major east-west corridor running west into Lexington, Ky., and east into Virginia. This facility will greatly enhance service to our local customers since it's located in an historical industrial complex in the heart of the Charleston industrial valley.”

In addition to the stores in South Charleston and Huntington, Worldwide Equipment has 13 other locations in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia.

The parts and service departments at Worldwide Equipment-Charleston are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the parts department from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The phone number is 304-744-1321. Division manager is Chuck Haden; service manager, Kenny Boggess; warranty manager, Christy Carr; and parts manager, Tom McDaniel.
