Truck-Lite's round LED headlamps show bright possibilities

Truck-Lite's Department of Transportation (DOT)-compliant 7" round LED (light-emitting diode) headlamp, now available in 12-volt, is showing bright possibilities for heavy- and medium-duty trucks and off-road vehicles.
The 12-volt headlamp provides a new level of performance for forward lighting applications, offering the extended life and energy efficiency of LED technology. Truck-Lite says it is the only manufacturer currently producing the standard 7" round size LED headlamps, both 12- and 24-volt, that meet or exceed all applicable DOT requirements pertaining to headlights.
The 24-volt LED headlamp was under development and testing for more than three years and has been in the Iraq and Afghanistan Theater since summer 2007 with 100,000-plus shipped to date.
