FleetPride, Inc., an aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, announced the acquisition of Automotive Brake Co. of Newburgh, Inc.

Automotive Brake has been in business since 1932 and has two locations in New York State: a 28,840-square-foot New Windsor facility and a 4,800-square-foot facility in Port Ewen.

Automotive Brake was purchased in 1991 by Joe Fischera and Steve Nordahl. Fischera will stay on as Assistant Area Manager for both of the acquired locations and FleetPride has extended employment offers to all Automotive Brake employees.

"The Automotive Brake group has operated in this local market for 76 years and is one of the most well respected independent distributors in the area. We are thrilled to have them join the FleetPride family," said Bill Vingiano, FleetPride Regional Vice President, Northeast Region.

"With the completion of this acquisition, FleetPride added 23 U.S. retail locations during 2008," said Mike Paxton, Vice President Business Development & Strategic Planning. "A component of our strategy is to continue to expand our national footprint in 2009."
