Eaton Corp recently was named one of “The Most Committed Multi-National Corporations (MNC) to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in China” by Foreign Investment in China magazine. The national publication is dedicated to reporting on foreign investment in China.

Twenty-three companies such as Eaton, DuPont, Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Intel, and BASF were recognized for their strong leadership in CSR and positive engagement in the communities in China. Eaton was honored for its active role in protecting the environment through its efforts to create green dynamics for sustainable development.

Eaton began operations in China in 1993 through a joint venture agreement to manufacture steering control units and hydraulic motors. Since then, its presence has grown significantly in the region through acquisitions, joint ventures, and wholly-owned subsidiaries.

Co-launched by Foreign Investment in China magazine and China Charity Federation, the award campaign known as “Seeking the Most Committed MNC to CSR in China” is the first to rank MNCs in China using CSR as its primary criteria. Winners were selected by a panel of experts, government officials, and media representatives who based their decision on public image, responsibility, and environmental protection. The panel of experts included scholars and professors from top Chinese universities, research institutes, and government think tanks.
