Diesel Goes Up Six Cents

The average price for a gallon of diesel nationally increased six cents to $2.551 for the week ending February 25, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

With the price increasing in all regions, the Midwest and Gulf Coast tied for having the largest jump -- 7.9 cents to $2.523 and $2.497, respectively. The West Coast had the smallest increase -- 0.6 cents to $2.790.

The cheapest region was the Lower Atlantic region at $2.483, after a 6.2-cent increase. California remained the most expensive region at $2.911.
